Feeling creatively caged in as I haven’t had much time to go out and shoot these past few weeks. Time to let the animal out of the cage and get creative.

You always have a choice in who you are and how you feel. Don’t let others infect your mind with who they think you are or how you should feel. Even the people that live this daily still fall victim from time to time so be sure to remember you are not alone but only you alone can control you.

In old Norse mythology the Moon (Máni) and Sun (Sól) are being chased by wolves and run through the heavons each day to count the years for man. One day the wolves will catch and devour them both signalling that Ragnarök has come upon us. I have been researching a lot about the Pagan gods of old along with the writings of 13th century Viking Saga’s and it is amazing to see how well documented it is. Such rich stories mixed with historical events, how can you not get lost in them? What are you reading or researching?

Putting in work like this little beaver was last night. It is great to see this national symbol making a comeback along the many rivers and creeks that reach Lake Ontario. Always a favorite to see and quite the hard workers to learn from.

Joshua’s Creek – Oakville, Ontario
Grjótagjá used to be a very popular hot spring site until the mid 1970’s. After two eruptions in the 70’s and 80’s the water temperature rose too high for bathing. It is now on private land and the current owners forbid bathing but still allow visitors to come see and photograph the beautiful lava cave.
It was recently used in the popular TV series Game of Thrones. It is the famous scene where Ygritte turns Jon Snow into a man. If you’re a fan of the show you will know what I am talking about.
Grjótagjá – Iceland
Habits are the structure that holds your day together. Good and bad, they are what you make of them. I had a goal of shooting more B&W so I decided on a smaller goal of posting one black and white for every two colour photos. I have quite enjoyed turning it into a habit this year.
